The Base

The Base

Its a warehouse!

Please feel free to add: defences, communications, research materials, etc here by spending a separate pool of points. The points everyone has are below. They can be pooled to buy a single thing for the base, or saved to buy things for the base. In addition, certain NPCs may add things to the base over time if they a) have access and b) are interested in furthering your cause. If you allow NPCs into the base who are against your cause, they might steal things, sabotage things, or just trash the place.

The idea I have is that without working together or getting NPCs to do things, Base upgrades should be hard to do. Also, again, these are a separate pool of experience points to spend. These are not character points, but base only points.

Description

Feel free to add things here about what it looks like on the interior, etc. This is the kind of thing that won’t make a HUGE difference to the game (defenses, resources, etc, but makes it feel homey)

The Eagle’s Corner

A small corner near the entrance of the warehouse with a single shower-head attached to the plumbing over the drain, a couple of Japanese room dividers, some stacks of books, a cot, and an overstuff chair make up the Eagle’s current living situation. His main complaint? A carpet would do a lot to make the whole area easier on his knees.

Comments

I’m torn between whither or not secrecy is of utmost importance or not. Part of me says that it’s a top priority, but the other part of me just worries that the people we’re trying to hide from are basically the kind of people who know everything you’re doing, anyway. My gut still says we should go with a slightly less obvious base, even though I’d love to have the sky-scraper. I feel like the most practical option is the Warehouse in Brooklyn, as it’s still not super far away from everything, but it’s low profile, and can hide some larger purchases we may need to make eventually.

What are everyone else’s thoughts?

The Base

For the record, so everyone’s not bouncing back and forth between here and their email, the following is the description of the different base options that Tyler laid out in the email:

Construction site in Mahnatten (will become skyscraper)

  • Pros: central location, can grow with you, easier to hide some purchases, most flexible in terms of what you can get
  • Cons: High profile, may be hard to hide later on (if secrecy is an option), less easy to hide industrial type stuff

Warehouse in Brooklyn

  • Pros: Moderately easy to hide industrial and other purchases, low profile (easy to explain numerous comings and goings)
  • Cons: A bit further away/less central, limited growth in this locatino without raising an investigation

Docks in New Jersey

  • Pros: Also highly flexible, LOTS of coming and going is easy to explain. Easy to explain industrial purchases, access to water
  • Cons:Hard to explain some purchases, least central location, Jersey

The Motel

  • Pros: already there!, pretty central, lots of Meta traffic, currently area is less public so can explain away some things easier
  • Cons: growth needs to be covered, has a public side with high traffic

Thanks! Take another 1XP for this.

The Base

I second the decision of the Warehouse.

The Base

I also say the warehouse.
